A New 6x6 Page

Good morning everyone! Happy Friday - what a beautiful start to our Memorial Day weekend. I hope you have a wonderful and safe time with family and friends. I have a fun page to share with you today. I've wanted to do this page for a long time and finally got to it this week. The little cutie in the picture I've used in my great-nephew Landon. What a joy he is! This page is taken straight from the IBC - page 124...with just a couple of changes.  It uses the stamp set Certified. I love the color combination used here.  100_0701 The background is Riding Hood Red layered with Textured More Mustard. The layers are made up of Sahara Sand, Baja Breeze, Baja Breeze DSP and Whisper White. The layers are stamped with the same colors of Classic Ink. I stamped the oval piece with VersaMark and used White Detail Embossing Powder (pg. 186 IBC) which makes the words pop. Dimensionals (pg. 191 IBC) are used under four of the pieces to add depth to the page. Instead of the scallop edge punch that is used in the catalog sample, I used the Tearing Edge along the thin border of Baja Breeze CS. I made the journaling pocket out of the coordinating DSP and punched 1/2 of the 1-1/4" circle punch (pg. 185 IBC). Did you know there is a "half way" mark on the side of the punch? Slide your paper in to only that mark and punch. You will get that slot opening which is great for just this look! I used the Round Tab punch (pg. 185 IBC) for the top of the slide shown. I then put in a silver brad (pg. 174 IBC) as an embellishment.  So, a few fun embellishment ideas pull together to make this very fun scrap page. Even though it is a small page, little Landon is still the focus of the page!

Happy Scrapping - Cindy

FEATURED ARTIST

Hi everyone and Happy Tuesday! I hope you are enjoying a beautiful Spring day. It is absolutely gorgeous here in Ohio!

I have a very fun card to share with you today. It is made by Heather, a SU Demonstrator from Canada. I love the color combination Heather has used on this card as well as her great use of some of our newest embellishments. Dog Driving Car The stamp set she used for this card is Hit the Road (pg. 103 of the IBC), the adorable image with the dog driving the jeep! The card stocks and inks are Tempting Turquoise, Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point and water color paper. Notice the Chocolate Chip 1/2" Library Clip Heather has attached to the top of the image  and the Kraft Corduroy Button at the bottom of the image (both on pg. 176 of the IBC). The ribbon used is the 5/8" Pacific Point Striped Grosgrain (pg. 178 of IBC). These add such great depth to the card!  Heather uses a beautiful water-coloring technique also. Can you tell I love this card!

Thank you for sharing your card with us Heather!

I hope you are able to carve out a bit of your day to create a little something for yourself...a card, a fun project or even a scrap book page! National Scrap Booking Month is still in progress! Remember, you can place online orders through my Stampin' Up! Website for any of those pieces and parts you are missing to create something wonderful!  http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/homeedit

Happy Stamping!

IT'S NATIONAL SCRAP BOOKING DAY! SU HAS A SPECIAL FOR YOU...

Good morning everyone! It's here...National Scrap Booking Day! To help you get in the mood for some wonderful scrap booking this month, SU is offering a wonderful special! Buy 3  packs of Designer Series Paper and receive 1 pack free! What a great offer! I LOVE our Designer Series Paper (pg. 158 of the IBC). I use them for everything - not just my scrap book pages. They make great layering options for your cards as well. A few of my very favorite sets in our current catalog are Bella Rose, Jackpot, Parisian Breeze Specialty (textured paper) and Raspberry Tart. Those are just a few! If you love the paper as much as I do, or if you have ever wanted to try them, THIS IS THE SPECIAL FOR YOU! Remember, you can place an online order yourself from my blog, or call/email me and I would be happy to help you place our order.

I hope you can find time today to take a few favorite photos and scrap some memories. I'll be working on a couple pages from a recent birthday surprise party we gave for two of my sisters. It was such a wonderful time and I want to create a fun layout. I'll post my results soon!

In the meantime, here is a sample page I thought you might enjoy:

Baby Page

This page uses our Rock-A-Bye Boy Simply Scrappin' Set (pg. 165 of the IBC) and the Short Order Alphabet Stamp Set (pg. 144 of the IBC). For a fun dimensional detail, they have added a small library clip to the journaling square (pg. 176 of the IBC). We have many great embellishments available in our catalog to add wonderful dimension and texture to your scap booking pages.

Please send me pics of the pages you create! I would love to share your work with everyone here - you could inspire us all!

Have a Happy Scrappy Day!
